Volunteers are the backbone of Telugu Badi. There are two types of volunteers that help Telugu Badi viz., Teachers and Associate Teachers.

Why should you volunteer at telugu badi?

Volunteering can be a highly rewarding experience for everyone involved. It offers the chance to give something back to the community and provides an opportunity to develop new skills. Some of the reasons for you to consider to volunteering at Telugu Badi:

Who can volunteer at telugu badi?

1. A member should have “Working With Children Clearance” from The Office of the Children’ Guardian. You can apply for WWCC at the following link.

NOTE: If you register as a VOLUNTEER for TELUGU ASSOCIATION INC, SYDNEY then there is no fees.

2. Being voluntary work, a volunteer should be willing to offer his/her services pro bono to Telugu Badi.

What does telugu badi offer?

1. All registered volunteers of Telugu Badi are covered by the Public Liability Insurance of Telugu Association Inc., Sydney.

2. Telugu Badi provides teaching resources and access to computer equipment as needed from time to time.

3. Telugu Badi provides opportunity to work with or assist class teachers in class work, school activities, school projects or classroom management.

What does telugu badi expect from the volunteers?

Telugu Badi runs during NSW School terms on the weekends. In each term there will be at most 10 weekends.

Teachers

A volunteer registered as a Teacher is expected to commit herself/himself to spend at least 2-3 hours on the weekends in their classrooms at the designated location. A teacher is expected to commit her/his time for a period of at least one (1) full school year, which is 40 weekends (from January to December).

A Teacher conducts Telugu Badi classes independently.
This is a long term commitment and hance members are advised to think seriously before registering as Teachers.

Associate teacher

A volunteer registered as an Associate Teacher is expected to commit herself/himself to spend at least 2-3 hours on the weekends in their classrooms at the designated location. An Associate Teacher is expected to commit her/his time for at least two (2) weekends per school term.

An ASSOCIATE TEACHER works collaboratively with a class Teacher under her/his instructions.
